    The Chairman of the Asharqia Chamber: The continuous rise in global competitiveness reports confirms the Kingdom's ability and continuity in providing a supportive and stimulating environment for competitiveness

    The Chairman of the Asharqia Chamber, Abdul-Hakim Bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi, praised the Kingdom’s continuous progress in the report of the annual book on global competitiveness (2020 IMD), issued by the Global Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Administrative Development in Switzerland.​

    Al-Khaldi said: (The Kingdom’s progress and transition from 26th to 24th place in the Global Competitiveness Report for the year 2020, despite the circumstances of its confrontation with the Corona pandemic, it confirms, on the one hand, the extent of the effectiveness and firmness of the reform paths approved by Vision 2030, and on the other hand confirms the Kingdom’s ability and continuity in providing an environment Supportive and motivating competitiveness according to the best international standards), indicating that the Kingdom is in a constant rise in the competitiveness file, and it is thanks to God first and then the system of complementary work between all government and private agencies, advanced this year and also advanced last year from 39 to 26 rank.​

    Al-Khaldi extended his thanks and gratitude to the position of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his loyal Crown Prince for the support and care they provide to the business sector, and to all parties that did not spare an effort towards improving the kingdom's ranking in global indicators interested in the business sector, confirming that the national economy In the case of continuous development, and it is one of the major economies in the world, whether in terms of its internal growth rates or its capabilities to influence the global economy.

    Al-Khalidi pointed out that the Kingdom has made exceptional progress in this year's report, as it came according to the report. In the eighth position among the G-20 countries, so that it surpasses countries such as Russia, France, Japan, and others, which, besides the feasibility of reforms and their positive returns on the national economy, are indications of insistence to complete the process of economic diversification launched by the vision.

    The Kingdom has also achieved, in the Competitiveness Report for the year 2020, a significant improvement in three out of four main axes included in the report, namely: The axis of economic performance in which the Kingdom progressed from the 30th to the 20th ranks, the axis of business efficiency and advanced in it from the 25th to the 19th ranks, and the infrastructure axis in which it advanced from the 38th to the 36th rank.​
